Approach

It started with climbing over fence rails at sunrise to photograph horses in foggy fields, and it has not really changed since. Eight years and more than a hundred weddings later, finding somebody's story through a camera still has not gotten old.

My work sits on the line between documentary photography and fine art: candid coverage of the day as it actually happens, with classically posed portraits made while the light is still worth using. Presence over perfection, always. The photographs you want cannot be arranged into existence, so my job is to be there, camera up, and let you live the day.

I was born and raised in Austin and settled here with my husband Kenton in a hill country bungalow, along with our doodles and a bunny named Howie. Photography has taken me a long way from home, but the big Texas skies are what I keep coming back to.
